-All Cobb Mtn Knife Co knives come with the promise to be capable of fulfilling their duty as the tools they are intended to be. This means if you have any issue, just contact us at Anthony@cobbmtnknifecompany.com and we can figure out what we need to do to handle the situation. This doesn't mean you should go out and use your knife as a prybar, baton, screwdriver or scuba knife. . its still just a knife, no matter how good the knife is.

The Steel-

We at Cobb Mtn Knife Co. have a few favorite knife steels we like to offer, some High Carbon, some Stainless. our High Carbon or HC blades are typically 1095HC, which is a VERY hard and tough steel that's been around a long time, and has proven its self time and time again.
...THE DOWN SIDE OF HC-
High Carbon likes to rust when neglected. Coated blades are less likely, but the edge being exposed still lends itself to rust, so care is needed.
-CARE IS NEEDED-
To care for the HC blades is very easy, you use it, dry it and maybe a little oil here and there.. BUT expect the knife to change color and build character even with care, this is called PATINA, it helps to prevent the rust and is a natural part of HC blades. IF STORING, put a light coat of oil on the blade first, with a rag, not your finger, and keep in a dry location.
-THE STAINLESS, we typically use D2, CPM-D2(both semi-stainless), 154-CM, CPM-3V,CPM-S30V, CPM-S35V all sourced from New Jersey Steel Baron (NJSB) and shouldn't need so much care from rust, but note that its stain-LESS, not stain-PROOF
